How do I know when to see a psychologist?
Some people may be reluctant to admit their struggle with mental illness or unaware of the signs and symptoms.
In fact, society has only very recently recognised that mental illness is like any other illness.
Anyone can develop a mental illness, including psychologists!
Each year, 1 in 5 Australians experienced a common mental health disorder and over 4 million received a mental health related prescription in recent years. You are not alone.
Especially in times of uncertainty, check in on your mental health as you would your physical health. Here’s a short checklist for your mental health:
- Disturbed sleep or difficulty getting to sleep
- Unexplainable fluctuating weight
- Usual mood changes
- Loss of attention or concentration
- Not feeling normal.
